Role Description

Security Guard Supervisor, LOGIXX Security Inc. Location 20 Upjohn Road North York, ON. Salary: 39,000 to 41,000 annually (To be negotiated) / 30 hours per week. Full time. Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning. Starts as soon as possible. Languages English. Education Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Experience 7 months to less than 1 year. Responsibilities: Arrange for maintenance and repair work. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Be the point of contact when in need to handle emergency situations. Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments. Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery. Monitor quality and production levels. Oversee cleaning of specialty and difficult items. Prepare and submit progress and other reports. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise operation of mechanical equipment and machinery. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Wash or dry-clean industrial or household articles. Establish work schedules and procedures. • Access control, CCTV surveillance, contractor escorts & report writing 
• Visitor management, parcel & key management 
• Property inspections, including pool chemical balance testing, property rules & regulations enforcement 
• Assist in case of emergency, first aid or any other intervention
• Interact with visitors, customers and the general public 
• Detect, challenge and displace unwanted people 
• Collect information on complaints or events 
• Maintain a positive, productive work environment through teamwork

• Valid Security Guard License
• Previous experience in the security industry is an asset

To Qualify to be hired for this position, you MUST have lived in Canada for 10 years and can pass Secret Clearance Status with the Government. 

We have unique openings for staff who enjoy flexibility in their schedule. This position will be primarily tasked with filling open shifts on a call-in basis, vacation coverage and special coverage requests at 3 of our secure facilities located in Barrie. When not filling in shifts in these facilities your schedule will vary with openings in the region allowing you to easily work a 40-hour week. You will be cross trained and valuable member of the team. You must have flexible availability and understand the nature of this position being varied in its needs. 

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour following training and successful approval of Secret Clearance certificate (costs covered by GardaWorld) 

Shifts: on-call coverage, last minute requests and vacation coverage. 24/7 Open Availability

What does a Security Guard in Barrie do?

- Monitor multiple worldwide facilities on integrated security systems

- Conduct alarm investigation and response by way of a large network of CCTV cameras at multiple facilities

- Use provided technology to follow up on external threats to company property and assets

- Oversee access control measures are implemented and maintained at multiple high-security locations

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Barrie

• A valid security guard license and first aid card
• Available to work flexible hours
• Have a clear criminal background and be able to obtain secret clearance status (paid for by GardaWorld) 
• Be eligible to work in Canada
• Have a high comfort level working on computers
• Have lived in Canada for the past 10 years and be able to pass Secret Clearance requirements

Experience:

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process. Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons. Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents. Prepares logs and reports as required. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. The employee might not be required to perform all functions listed. Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business necessity.
